Back to school in the New year :(

So, (buttons on ice cream and see if they stick) after having my christmas and new year it was straight back to school. A school filled with boredom and I have exams next week. At least I can be thankful (for the time being) that my exams are only internal and do not have an effect on my AS grades. In the end though it just means more exams in June.

i will briefly describe what has happened in my holidays.
School finished on Thursday 16th December (i think!) Matt, my boyfriend then came to visit from the Friday till the tuesday. on the monday we went to the centre of london to meet up with two of our frineds called Sam and Lynette. we both knew Sam but it was our first meeting with Lynette and I for one was very nervous! Fortunately, after Matt prised me out of the disney store (i didnt even want to be in there, i was just too scared to meet Lynette) we saw them both coming towards us. The day was really nice. We had lunch in a Pizza Hut where both me and Lynette were found to be picking the topping of the pizza we ordered and turning down the offers of a starter. when it came to sam and Lynete having to leave i had a mixture of feelings. i was sad the day had ended as it was nice getting to know them both a bit better, but i was also quite relieved as i had been so nervous throughout the day. Matt and I took the tube home and talked most of the way. when he had to leavew on the tuesday it was, as it always seems to be, really upseting and difficult. at least we could console ourselves with the fact that we would be seeing each other in just under a week.

Wednesday is a blur to me but on the Thursday the family (excluding my older sister abi as she was working christmas eve) all went up to beaconsfield to visit my grandparents. we stayed there till boxing day. Every christmas we go to visit my grandparents and it doesnt feel like Christmas until we are there. it is always really nice loking at the large tree in thelounge with all the presents undeerneath it. im still young enough to get away with feeling my presents to try and find out what i have got. im more cunning than i used to be, perhaps ppl shud put my presents in boxes before they wrap them to prevent me from ruining the surprise. this Christmas, like so many others was brilliant. One of my favourite presents (excluding chocolate as that always wins hands down!) was the dressing gown my Granny and Grandpa bought me. it is fleece-y with pockets and a hood. one of my main problems with dressing-gowns is the way that they always come untied at the front and let the cold in...this one, however, triumphs over this problem by having a zip up the front, GENIUS! it is blue, as i asked for, and warm (a request without saying :))

Coming home on the sunday was tough as i knew that as soon as i returned home i would need to start packing for my next set of travels. on the 27th i set off to Matt's as we were both going to a NHYP (new years house party) which began on the 29th. Before then i had to survive seeing more members of his family once again. i always find it slightly disconcerting meeting his family, not sure quite why, but before i have always been there when they arrived. this time i was to arrive when they were already at his house so i didnt have enough time to prepare! i was fine up until the point when i had presents piled onto my lap. i felt awakward, i had never even met his uncle before and he was giving me a present (it turned out to be a terry's chocolate orange segment egg thingameejiggy! yum! :D) i dutifully opened the presents wondering if it was rude that i had no presents with which to return the gesture. i shouldn't have worried, their family do presents in a big way! when me and matt went up to his room we decided to give our presents to each other. some of the ones he gave me weren't much of a shock as we had already discussed what he was going to get me but some of them were, for two main reasons. the first is that my memory is appauling so i had forgotten what he had sed he was going to get me and the second reason is that he got me some things as a surprise. i loved what he had got me, felt horriblre that i couldn't take it all home on the 3rd as it was too much to carry but he'll bring it with him for his next visit so i don't have too long to wait.
on the 29th we set off to westonbirt. Westonbirt is a christian Crusader house party at new year. the building it was held in was Westonbirt school, an all girls bording school. it was massive and really pretty. we were met, once inside, by sam and lynette. Sam was going to be a dorm leader but Lynette was a camper like me and matt. the first few days of Westonbirt were not great. Matt's back was playing up and he had lots of things on his mind. the last couple of days were better. on the 2nd (a sunday) we went to a church. it was quite youth focused yet had retained it's older 'members'. some people had een to this church 2 years ago and it hadn't been very good for them then but it had changed. in one song there were actions and in the instrumental people were dancing in the isles. the vicar was at the front doing the actions with a man called Mike. i tried to imagine my old vicar doing it, that just make me laugh even harder! One of the greatest outcomes of that service is that it convinced Sam that he should aim to go back to church. i really hope he manages it and Lynette does what she feels God wants her to do, encourage Sam all the way.

Now i had better go to my next leson but i will aim to do an update soon....although that doesn't really mean very much! i have Maths next and i'll be getting back the results to a test i did yesterday. i am not too hopeful...

This is truly a worthy blog to follow my own - the family resemblance is perhaps particularly noticeable in the length... long may it continue ;-)
May I suggest spellchecking the blog before postage (copypasting into word works well) but other than that, wahey!

I don't. I hate sand.

Sand is good in the right place. In food - not so good. Although generally food is sand free. So that's alright then.
